Ours are a 70% cellulose / 30% cotton blend, printed with a design on one side and ready to work on both. Wipe a counter, dry a colander, wrap a hunk of bread, buff a window. When it finally wears out, it is home compostable — it goes in the bin with the coffee grounds, not in a landfill for the next century.
